The 2016 Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships are now open for Solomon Islanders in the fields of health, gender, education, engineering, economics and law.
The Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships sponsors students interested in studying abroad at selected universities in the Pacific.
A statement from the Australian High Commission says these scholarships will provide successful applicants with the skills and knowledge to drive change and influence economic and social development in Solomon Islands.
The statement also said the scholarships will be awarded based on merit – meaning applicants will be assessed purely on their leadership potential, academic competence and their potential to impact on development challenges in Solomon Islands.
The Australian High Commissioner, Andrew Byrne, says he encourages Solomon Islanders who are interested to apply before the cut-off date of 30 June 2015.
