A LEADER OF SI CONTINGENT TO 5TH MSG ARTS FEST DIES

A leader of the Solomon Islands contingent to the Melanesian Arts and Culture Festival in Papua New Guinea has passed away.

In a service message through SIBC, the Minister, Permanent Secretary and staff of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announce, the late John Tahinao, Director of Culture, Ministry of Culture and Tourism died unexpectedly while on an official duty, attending the 5th MSG Arts and Culture Festival yesterday.

In the service message, Minister Samuel Manetoali told families and relatives, the late Tahinao has served the country faithfully and diligently up to the time of his passing.

He adds, it is a great loss not only for the family but the country as a whole.

Mr Manetoali says the government is making all arrangements to return the late Tahinao’s body to the country.
