Fiji’s Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has conveyed the sympathies of the Fijian people to the Solomon Islands following this week’s flash floods that caused severe destruction and claimed several lives.

Fiji Village-dot-com reports, in a message to Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo, Bainimarama said their condolences also goes to the families of the victims, and that Fiji pray’s to Almighty God to give them patience and fortitude, and to grant all the souls eternal rest.

Bainimarama added Fiji knew from past experience the terrible damage that flooding and similar disasters can reap not just on land and houses, but on the lives of those affected.

He said his government will lend the people of the Solomons whatever support the country can in the coming weeks.
