The body of a thirteen-year-old girl who went missing during last Friday’s heavy rain has been found.
Police media reports the body was found in front of the Honiara Central Market yesterday.
The girl was reportedly washed away by flash floods during the heavy downpour on Friday, and the search for her continued on Saturday and Sunday.
In a statement Police media said the body was now at the morgue at the National Referral Hospital. Investigations into the cause of death are ongoing.
Police reminded the public to be vigilant during times of heavy rain and bad weather in the capital.
