Candidates for the Honiara City Council election have until this Wednesday, 3rd December to withdraw their candidacy.
Returning Officer Alphonsus Pero explains, candidates wishing to withdraw will have to notify the Returning Officer in writing the reasons for their withdrawal.
Mr Pero says, a final list will be confirmed after the close of withdrawals this Wednesday.
He says, after the close of nominations on the 19th November, a total of 90 intending candidates has submitted their nominations to contest the 12 Council seats.
SIBC News understands, the Honiara City Council polling day is 17th December.
Meanwhile, six provinces – Central Islands, Guadalcanal, Isabel, Malaita, Rennell and Bellona and Temotu provinces are heading to the polls to elect their provincial governments on the 10th December.
