Community Leaders in North Malaita want the Government to renovate the Malu’u Court House.

SIBC Stringer in the region, John Andrew Kiri reports the call was made after Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer announced the strengthening of local courts and customary lands in the country.

Kiri reports access to a local court house for court hearings and access updated information is much more cheaper than having to travel to Auki for court services.

“People want the government, through the ministry responsible, to renovate the Malu’u court house, which is much closer and a walking distance for people. This is because it will be very expensive if all court cases are only held at Auki, which will incur additional expenses, apart from court expenses, especially court hearings” said Mr. Kiri.
