Community partnership is priority for the Royal Solomon Islands Police (RSIPF) in Central Province this year.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Central Province, Patricia Leta told SIBC News, community partnership is quite effective during the festive season.

She says their priority for 2016 is fostering partnership with the community.

“Our priority in 2016 is looking forward to fostering a partnership with the community as we did before and I am looking forward to maintaining that in 2016. I would like to appeal on community chiefs and village leaders to work together with the police and we will maintain proactive measures, but our cooperation will determine a peaceful community.”

PPC Leta adds our society would achieve peace through partnership with communities.

She said they will work closely with village chiefs, elders, youth leaders and other community groups this year.

Meanwhile, Visale Parish Priest, Father John Galvin has expressed his gratitude to the people of north-west Guadalcanal for working together in 2015 and has called for the same participation in 2016.

SIBC’s north-west Guadalcanal stringer John Toki reports.

“Parish Priest John Galvin thanked the people for their cooperation with chiefs and church leaders as well as the government in 2015 adding, he wants them to do the same for this year 2016.”
