The Parliamentary Independent Group in Parliament has called on the Democratic Coalition for Change Government to be sensitive in its land reform exercise.
Mr Independent Leader, Manasseh Maelanga said any land reform exercise devoid of acknowledging the indigenous cultural ties and relationship with landowners is sure to be a failure.
Mr Maelanga said the cultural and traditional relationship between people and their land is deeply rooted and have been tested over time immemorial.
He said relationship in the name of development is a sensitive issue that needs careful research adding, the government must not tread on the one-size-fits-all land reform.
Meanwhile, the Independent leader recommends the government to bear in mind the patrilineal and matrilineal system of land ownership in thecountry.
