The Democratic Coalition for Change Government has yet to release any funding for constituency development projects for this year.
Speaking to SIBC News, the Deputy Director of Rural Development Matilda Watesao says the Ministry is continuously receiving applications for constituency development projects but funding is not available.
Mrs Watesao says the lack of funds may be because there is a shortage in the government’s cash flow.
In terms of constituency projects, the Deputy Director says priority will depend on the location of the constituency and the project’s nature.
“But at the moment, they are submitting projects in and more constituencies are applying for roofing irons, housing schemes and transportation. It depends on the locations of each constituency, the nature of the application or the projects will depend entirely on the location of the constituency.”
