Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII) has called on every good citizen of this country to respect the rule of law as the country prepares for the national general election this month.
A FSII statement says this concern comes after some shops and offices in Honiara City have welded iron doors and engaged local security firms to protect their properties over the past weeks and days.
FSII now warns all citizens to always abide by the law as signs of wielding iron doors and engaging local security firms show business community in the country do not have confidence and trust for their safety during election times.
This can have considerate negative impact – discouraging foreign investment on our shores.
It is understood, provincial elections for most provinces will be held next month.
