The Women in Leadership Desk Officer of the National Council of Women, says he is disappointment with the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government’s decision to reshuffle the only female Member of Parliament to the Ministry of Women, Youth Children and Family Affairs.

Last week the DCC Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare reshuffled a few MPs to different Ministerial portfolios.

However, outspoken and strong Advocator for Women Casper Fa’asalasays his office is really disappointed with the DCC Government’s decision to reshuffle MP Freda Tuki as the Minister of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs.

“In reshuffling the Minister and MP for Temotu Vatud to the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, for many they would think that that is the right portfolio, but in terms of credible women leadership and showcasing the abilities of knowing government and its work and development of the country would be seen as a setback for the country.”
