The Ministry of Finance and Treasury’s National Statistics department is holding a three-week training in preparation for the Solomon Islands Demographic and Health Survey in Honiara.
More than 100 enumerators from all nine provinces are to be trained in the second health survey to be conducted in April.
Survey Director, Irene Kalauma says information and data collected from the survey will assist the country’s policy makers and donor partners regarding health.
“A similar survey we had was in 2007 and now it is the second one of this Demographic and Health Survey. So we will update the information regarding health, particularly in family planning, disability and child labour, child discipline to update this information. We will give them to the policy makers and those who do planning and other donor partners of our country who need them.”
