First RSIPF females officers to Sudan

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force today commissioned three of it’s officers who will soon be deployed to Sudan under the United Nations’ Peacekeeping Mission.

For the first time, the team included two female officers.

Speaking during the commissioning, Supervising Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga said, the deployment marks another achievement for the force.

Ms Matanga said, this indicated that the force can be trusted with it’s capability to contribute in international peace missions.

“The RSIPF has aspired to be part of the UN Mission for some times because of their own areas of conflict “, she said , “and also understanding that we have the capacity to contribute towards international peace missions.”

The officers leave for Sudan this Saturday.
