FIVE MEN REMANDED IN CUSTODY FOR ALLEGED BREAK-IN INCIDENT

Five men have been remanded in custody this morning for allegedly breaking into the Our Telekom Office in Yandina, Russell Islands after the New Year celebrations.

The men were arrested by the Yandina Police and brought to Honiara last night.

They were remanded at the Central Magistrate Court this morning.

The men were alleged to have broken into the Our Telekom Office in Yandina and stole $24,000 in cash and $22,000 mobile handsets worth thousands of dollars.

The incident occurred around midnight Saturday last week.

Police have recovered $6,000 and two mobile handsets.

The men will appear again in Court in two weeks.
