In an exclusive interview with SIBC News PS Palua, today says the committee has not performed to expected standards, saying as the ministry responsible for the games the Home Affairs Ministry had to take steps to relief the former chair of the Solomon Games Committee.

“The Games management has seen the need to make some changes due to issues arising so I have relieved the former Chair of the organising committee and put in a new Chairperson and from my observation as from yesterday, things are moving.”

He adds, Martin Rara President of the National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands is the newly appointed Chairman of the Solomon Solomon Games committee.

“Martin Rara is the current new Chair of the Management Committee who is a sports development officer from the Ministry who is also the NOCSI President.”
