The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force have arrested four male suspects following an assault which left one police officer injured during the police ‘Big Man Operation’ at Kukum Labour line area on Wednesday morning.
Police alleged the officer was attacked while on duty inside a police vehicle.
Four male suspects appeared from nowhere, made a quick attack injuring the officer and escaped before police backup arrived.
The incident was responded to by the Honiara Central Police an hour later and arrested the suspects and charged them with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm, Malicious damage and assaulting a police officer whilst on duty.
Suspects remained in police custody as investigations continue.
