The Gold Ridge Landowners Association says it is eyeing interested investors to operate the Gold Ridge mine, now that Saint Barbara is scaling down its operations.

Chair, Dick Douglas revealed this at a media conference last week in Honiara.

He said investors are indicating their interest, and resource owners are looking at how best they can analyse and select the right investor.

“We are eyeing and looking at investors. There are interests coming in, but we are yet to finalise or we are yet to see how best, if they are willing to come over to the Solomon Islands, then we can look at three to five investors and from there we can analyse and assess what is the best way to go and which company is the best one. But in mining off course we are looking at a new investor to come in because it is better at an early stage than prolonging it, which is not suitable as things may fall out of hand.”
