Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare says his government has a well-thought agenda for the achievement of good governance.
He says the Democratic Coalition for Change Government is committed to strengthen the country’s integrity institutions strong.
“We are committed to strengthen our integrity institutions including the Leadership Code Commission, Office of the Ombudsman and the Parliamentary Entitlements Committee.”
The Prime Minister adds DCC is determined to fight corruption head on, saying a comprehensive national anti-corruption strategy will be developed.
“We determine to fight corruption head-on and we would invite relevant civil organisations to join us in this endeavour. A comprehensive national anti-corruption strategy will be developed, an anti-corruption legislation will be enacted and an independent commission against corruption will be established. All as essential elements of our determination to fight against corruption.”
Mr Sogavare made the statement today during the launching of his government’s policy framework.
