GRANTS OFFERED TO ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDS BY S.I.C.C.I & WESTPAC

Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce (SICCI) and Westpac Bank are offering the opportunity for entrepreneurial minds to win three grants of $5,000 each in the Service Innovation, Technological Innovation or Good Governance categories.

The SICCI, Chief Executive, Jerry Tengemoana said entrepreneurship helps build better economic futures for the people of Solomon Islands and plays an important role in the economic growth of the country.

He said SICCI encourage the development of business in the domestic economy and welcome any additional support from stakeholders in the private sector to further enhance their efforts.

Meanwhile, Westpac General Manager Solomon Islands, Elliott Griffin said Westpac would like to see more local men and women be given the opportunity to be included in the development and future of the Solomon Islands.

Mr Griffin said Westpac is delighted to boost the efforts of gifted, hardworking, professionals, especially those who can contribute positively to the domestic economy.

He said winners of a grant will take home $5,000 in a Westpac Business Account for the development of their business under the continuing guidance of SICCI.

Applications from local entrepreneurs are invited through the SICCI office and applications close on Friday 5th December and Winners will be announced next months.
