A ground-breaking ceremony on the Malaita Integrated Pig and Agriculture Training Centre will take place in Adaliua, Malaita province tomorrow.
The establishment of the centre was part of the Solomon Islands Government’s partnership with the Republic of China Taiwan to develop agriculture in Solomon Islands.
Director of Extension from the Ministry of Agriculture Michael Ho’ota says the establishment of the training centre will allow farmers in Malaita province to grow vegetables and own piggery projects for pork production.
Mr Ho’ota says, construction work will begin after the ground-breaking ceremony.
The ceremony will be attended by the Minister for Agriculture Augustine Auga, Representative from the Republic of China and Premier for Malaita Province.
