Guadalcanal and Honiara have gone ahead of other constituencies to draw names for the ballot order for its constituencies.
Staged yesterday and witnessed by election officials at the National Museum in Honiara, the draw was done after nominations closed at 4:30pm yesterday.
In a brief statement, the Electoral Commission said the ballot draw is an important part of the process and ensures fairness to all candidates.
The Commission said, during the process, names of candidates are drawn at random from a box to determine the order in which they will appear on the ballot paper.
SIBC News understands similar draws will take place for other constituencies.
