GUADALCANAL PROVINCE REGAINED ITS LEGITIMATE POWERS

The Guadalcanal Provincial Government has regained its legitimate power from the Minister for Provincial Government Silas Tausinga.

The Minister intervened after the Provincial Assembly experienced a political crisis earlier this year.

Premier Anthony Veke told SIBC News, he is now optimistic the Provincial Executive will soon pass the province’s 2014 budget.

“Where the Minister has taken away the powers of the Executive and the Assembly, now he has reinstated those powers back to the Executive and the Assembly. Hence, I would like to let the people of Guadalcanal know that that is the case and we will pass the provincial budget in the next few weeks so that we continue to deliver services to the people of Guadalcanal.”
