Founder of Hearts of Hope Widows and Orphans program in Malaita Province Janet Justice Aihari has called on the general public to support the charitable organization carry out its mandated task.
Hearts of Hope Widows and Orphans Program was established in 2006 to give care to the unfortunate orphans and widowers both men and women in Malaita Province.
Mrs. Aihari says the formation of the program has started after seeing a lot of unfortunate children and adults in the province become victims of negligence.
“My parents left me when I am little and I’ve been through such a life and it’s tough, lonely and sad especially seeing other families being happy with their parents and so I see these families need looking after so I decided to start this program to try and make a difference in their lives, using my life experience.”
She urges the general public to support them through donations.
“If you have enough and would like to give to this cause you can contact us the Hearts of Hope Widows and Orphans Program and our contact number is 7481827. The immediate needs for these kids now are things like towels, blankets, and clothes to wear and if you have enough clothes at home and would like to give, please do so as we also need donations.”
SIBC News understands the Program currently operates within 26 communities in the province.
