HIGH COURT RECEIVED 15 ELECTION PETITIONS

The High Court has received 15 election petitions lodged after the National General Elections in November this year.

The petitioners include former Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo against his successor Jimson Fiau Tanangada, former MP for Temotu Vatud Clay Forau against Freda Soriacomua and Francis Zama against the MP for Rendova Tetepare constituency, Danny Philip.

Other MPs facing petitions from losing candidates are Northwest Guadalcanal MP Bodo Detke from Albert Fono, MP for North Vella La Vella Milner Tozaka from Jennings Movobule and MP for Fataleka Constituency Steve Abana from Severino Mae.

The petitions cite bribery, treating and undue influence among their claims.

Today 24th December is the final day of submitting election petitions to the High Court.
