Acting Police Commander for Honiara City, Superintendent Simpson Pogeava has called on all drivers in Honiara to always abide by traffic laws.

The call came following a fatal traffic accident yesterday morning along the Prince Philip High Way in Honiara, which resulted in one death and three others seriously injured.

Superintendent Pogeava told SIBC News it is always important not to drive under the influence of liquor adding, drivers must use proper road lanes to avoid involving in any future accidents.

“The message I want to put across to the general public is, first no drink driving, drive on the proper side of road lanes, some people are not using the right lanes because of the influence of liquor or related issues, so drivers out there in the public must ensure they comply with our traffic rules.”

SIBC News believes, two lives were unnecessarily lost over the weekend following two separate traffic accidents along the Prince Philip High Way.
