Honiara will soon see the construction of its tallest building.

The 12 storey building will be erected opposite the Westpac Bank area, Point Cruz.

The proposed building will be owned by the Solomon Islands Ports Authority.

Confirming this development to journalists, Chairman of the Solomon Islands Port Authority Board Mr Nollen Leni says consultations on the building is ongoing.

“We plan to put in there a 12 storey building double tower. Now at this point in time our CEO and the consultancy team from Singapore are talking to interested investors and as soon as we strike that agreement, work will commence, so at this stage the consultancy is yet to be completed so we look forward to perhaps by the end of the year we would be able to implement this project.”
