JAPANESE EMBASSY ASSISTS ADAKUA TRAINING CENTRE

The Japanese Embassy in Honiara has handed over more than $600,000.00 to the Adakoa Rural Training Centre.

Japanese Charge’ de Affairs Odai Tomohiro handed over the grant to Adakoa’s principal David Leliana in a brief ceremony today.

Speaking during the signing, Mr Leliana says the grant will further enhance the improvements to the school’s infrastructure development.

“We are more than thankful your excellency for the amount of $600,000.00. This money will be to assist in the completion of the four classroom blocks, four workshop blocks, four toilet rooms and full electrical wiring the building, including lights, power points etc…These will enhance the level of training offered at the school especially student’s access to electrical tools.”

He says the rural training centre will serve the general population of East Malaita which includes East Fataleka, East Kwara’ae, East Kwaio and East Are’are.

Japan’s assistance comes under its Grassroots and Human Security Scheme.
