In sports, the Judo Federation of Solomon Islands today received 50 sets of Judo uniforms from the Embassy of Japan in Honiara.

The assistance was sponsored by All Japan Judo Federation, Solidarity of International Judo Education under a project called “Sport for Tomorrow”.

Speaking during the hand over, Japanese Ambassador to Solomon Islands Kenichi Kimiya said the assistance is for the development of the sport in the country.

Meanwhile, National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOCSI) President, Martin Rara said the assistance is timely as NOCSI strives to develop Judo in the country.

“We’ll go on from here on in sports because this is a very big thing to us when we are trying to develop the Judo sport here because most of the time we have lack of equipment to our developmental activities.”
