The Commissioner of lands has warned against illegal squatterring on registered land.
Commissioner Nelson Naoapu says the Ministry of Lands discourages this.
He warns, the lands are registered and people who squatter on them will only pose problems for themselves.
“Those areas people squatter on are registered land and you will not be secure if you stay there. Because if this man (owner) comes and wants to develop his land, you will be evicted. So the safe thing is for you to try to avoid this. Make sure if you want to stay on any land, you go through the right process. You discuss with that person or you come to the Ministry and see them.”
