The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Survey has teamed up with the Honiara City Council to prepare strategic plans to guide the growth and expansion of Honiara City.
Minister for Lands, Housing and Survey Andrew Manepora’a made the announcement at the opening of his Ministry’s inaugural one-day information session for Honiara residents yesterday.
Minister Manepora’a said the strategic plans will focus on the need to address present issues affecting Honiara city.
He adds the ultimate goal is to encourage good development that will bring positive and lasting impacts to our city.
“The plans are translated to control and guide future investments within our city. The ultimate goal here everyone is to encourage good development and infrastructure that will bring about positive and lasting impact to our city.”
SIBC News understands the Ministry has teamed up with the Honiara City Council with the support of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community SPC and the UN Habitat in preparing the strategic plan.
