LOGGING SOLD 2 MILLION CUBIC METRES IN LAST 3 YEARS

As the Ministry of Forestry observed International Forest Day today, the Permanent Secretary of the forestry ministry, Vaeno Vigulu says logging activities has sold around two million cubic metres in the last three years.

Mr Vigulu made this announcement today.

“According to the estimates that have been declared over the last three or four years, logging activities have actually sell up around two million volumes of logs and since 2013-2016, the volume of logs exported was about two million.”

He adds, last year sets a new record in terms of log exports.

“Just last year, it stands at 2.2 million cubic metres. The history we are seeing so far as logging was done, last year was the highest and even comparing the months across the years, by November the volume exported was quite high, meaning that we have exported a high volume last year, earning a high revenue for the country as well.”
