The Malaita Ma’asina Forum, MMF, has said it still supports a non Australian for the Police Commissioner’s post in Solomon Islands.

Emphasizing its stand to local journalists, forum president, Charles Dausabea reiterated they are not supporting an Australian to take up the top police job.

He says the Julian Moti issue came about due to clear intervention by an Australian Deputy Commissioner of Police, Peter Marshall, who was facilitating Canberra’s interest in the country.

Mr. Dausabea says a number of writers have stated an invisible force is backing the move to oust Julian Moti from Solomon Islands.

He allege, MMF believes Australia is the invisible force adding, it has related documents to substantiate this claim.

“We have documents from the Australian Courts to prove the Australian Government’s involvement in collaboration with Peter Marshall, during their trail in Australia. It was revealed during that time what action Peter Marshall has played in the role to get Moti out. Despite the fact of telling him it’s illegal to get Moti out. They have it with the Solicitor General who gave his view, Moshinski. This was recorded in the Brisbane Court of Appeal and in the documents that I’ve passed on to you. It said that we would have problems with Moti’s deportation and why, because Peter Marshall is facilitating for Australia’s interest”.

He calls on the Prime Minister to tell the nation who is compensating Julian Moti, adding ‘not’ the taxpayers of Solomon Islands.
