MAN CALLED ON AUTHORITIES TO CHECK OUT CRAMPED HOUSING

A North Guadalcanal man has called on responsible authorities to check the conditions of staff houses at the Lee Kwok Kwen Farm at Popoloi, North Guadalcanal.

SIBC’s North Guadalcanal stringer, Dudley Gani reports a Charles Tomae who resides near the farm made the call, saying the staff houses at the farm are not conducive for people to live in.

“Charles Tomae said he raised this because the labour houses at the Popoloi farm are very poor in standard. He thought they were bathrooms when he first saw them because they were only about 1.5 metres wide and 8 feet high and seemed like boxes.”

When contacted by SIBC reporters yesterday, a Le Kwok Kwen representative said the company will respond on this issue today.
