The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force will remain on high alert, following the rioting, looting and arson last weekend.
Speaking during a police conference yesterday, Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga said police will continue its operation until the situation returns to normal.
“In terms of police operations we will continue to remain on high alert until such time that the situation is going back to normal then we will go back to our normal duties as well.”
Meanwhile, the Acting Police Commissioner thanked leaders and chiefs in Honiara and throughout the country for supporting police work to put the situation at ease.
Commissioner Matanga also called upon the public to ensure peaceful living in the country.
