The only woman politician in the Western Provincial Assembly, Jane Tozaka emphasises the need for men and women leaders to work in partnership in developing the country.
Speaking at the celebration of the Women’s International Day in Honiara this week, Mrs Tozaka said the country need both men and women to strive for its prosperity.
She adds, at present the country’s decision makers are mostly male- resulting in slow progress.
Mrs Tozaka further states, it is her dream that not in the far distance Solomon Islands will fully utilize in all its sectors, recognising more females in decision making.
Meanwhile, Mrs Tozaka says she acknowledges the positive direction this country has taken to address gender imbalance.
She says evidently, women are now being given more opportunities in economics, social and political leadership.
Mrs Tozaka believes, our country will be governed efficiently and effectively, transformed for better- given equal opportunities to both the male and feminine gender.
