My Government is intact: PM Houenipwela

Prime Minister Rick Houenipwela said he has no time for political gambling.

That was his response to yesterday’s front-page article in the Island Sun, which claimed that a senior government minister was masterminding a plot to topple his administration.

“My Government is intact, and I enjoy the confidence and support of all my Cabinet members,” he said in a statement today. “While there may be certain elements outside Cabinet intent on driving a wedge between the group, I am not deterred by such ill-fated actions by desperate individuals.”

Prime Minister Houenipwela said he remains focused on achieving his Government’s policy goals within a short period of time and has no time to waste.
