The Solomon Islands National Council of Women (SINCW) has appealed to different sectors in the country to uphold national solidarity while addressing issues relating to the past ethnic crisis.

In a statement today, the Council asked national leaders to respect each other when addressing issues that are important to move Solomon Islands forward and not backwards.

It says as leaders of this nation, they should find ways to discuss issues of national interest and not attack themselves publicly in the media.

The Women’s Council adds leaders must not lose sight of who they are and their status in the country as they continue to address issues that will pave the way forward for peace and national solidarity.

SIBC News understands the Council made the statement in light of the recent $3 million payout saga.
