The Omission and Objection period in parts of Choiseul Province has been successful.

According to the Electoral Commission, the period began on July 25 and ends on August 6.

SIBC’s Leni Dalavera reports, Assistant Returning Officer for Northwest Choiseul at Sirovanga Jessie Vatora said they received its Provisional Electoral List last weekend, and held its first public viewing last Saturday.

The Assistant Returning officer also told Dalavera, the turn out for the first few days was very good.

“Jessie Vatora, Assistant Returning Officer based at Sirovanga station confirmed that the turn out was quite good on the first few days of this process. Mrs Vatora said on day one her team have dealt with voters who registered more than once, some minor spelling errors and omitting names of at least two people who passed away after being registered to vote.”
