The Parliamentary Opposition has urged the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government to seriously prioritise reviewing the Political Parties Integrity Act (PPIA).

It said in a statement today the recent political developments have proven that the PPIA needs reviewing to avoid financial and social implications to the Government and the people, especially when the country needs stability to achieve tangible development results.

It says the need to review the Act is important, given the recent political developments which have drawn so much confusion amongst leaders and the people.

The statement said the Act is to address political instability; however, the events that unfolded in the past two weeks indicates it still has no teeth to bite.

Meanwhile, the Opposition Group urged the Government to speed up reviewing the Act adding, the long-term growth and prosperity of the country depends much on political stability.
