“PAY US $18-M BEFORE YOU REOPEN THE MINE”: D.C.C TOLD

Gold Ridge Community and Landowners Council demands the Democratic Coalition for Change Government (DCCG) to pay $18 million to the council before negotiating the reopening of Gold Ridge Mining.

Stringer Dudley Gani reports, the Gold Ridge Community and Landowners Council Chairman Dick Douglas made the call following non-payments of a number of gold bar shipments before the mine was abandoned last year.

Mr Douglas says this is the prerequisite before the DCC Government can enter into any negotiation to reopen the mine.

He calls on the DCC Government to quickly address the issue to reopen the Gold Ridge Mine as it is the only mine in the country which significantly contributes to the national economy.
