Prime Minister Hon Manasseh Sogavare will lead a government delegation to the Republic of China (ROC) on Taiwan tomorrow.

A government statement today says the trip is an invitation of the Taiwanese Government to give an opportunity for Prime Minister and Members of his Cabinet and Caucus to make a courtesy with the Taiwanese President, Tsai Ing-wen, following her election victory in January this year.

This includes a visit to various business establishments and cultural settings in and around Taipei.

Meanwhile, the statement confirms Prime Minister Sogavare and his delegation will first attend the 8th Australia Solomon Islands Business Forum and Trade Expo in Brisbane this Friday.

Mr. Sogavare will join the Australian Minister for International Development and Pacific Islands, Hon Concetta Ferriavanti-Wells to give their keynote addresses, before travelling on to Taipei this Saturday.

The Prime Minister and his delegation will arrive back in Honiara on Friday 5th August.
