PM SOGAVARE BACK AFTER PACIFIC ENGAGEMENTS

Prime Minister Honourable Manasseh Sogavare returned home yesterday after his Pacific engagements in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The engagements were the 10th Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders and the Pacific Ocean Summit of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s World Congress.

At the margins of these conferences, the Prime Minister convened the first meeting of the Pacific Coalition on West Papua.

Prime Minister Sogavare described the engagements as crucial in charting the way forward on the United States engagement in the Pacific region, ensuring environmental sustainability in the Pacific and addressing the human rights and self-determination issues in West Papua.
