Each citizen of the sovereign nation of Solomon Islands must rise in unity to redirect our journey to a better future.
Prime Minister Rick Houenipwela made this emphasis during the ecumenical fellowship marking the opening of the 6th Melanesian Arts and Cultural Festival and the 40th Independence activities this morning.
Prime Minister Houenipwela said, the responsibility of moving this nation forward does not only rest on the political or church leaders.
He adds, each of us has been called to duty by our Lord.
Prime Minister Rick Houenipwela said, only we can navigate our journey into tomorrow.
“Redirecting our journey means that there is only one journey. One journey together into tomorrow,” he said. “One journey into the land of joy peace progress and prosperity and one journey in love, joy , peace and unity.
“God bless Solomon Islands from shore to shore.”
The Ecumenical service this morning was held at the Maranatha Hall and attended by national leaders as well as Melanesians and invited guests to the 6th MACFEST.
