PRIME MINISTER LEFT FOR A VISIT OF MSG SECRETARIAT IN VILA

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has left for Vanuatu yesterday for a visit of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

The visit is made in his capacity as the Chair to the MSG.

A government statement said during the visit, Prime Minister Sogavarewill hold a briefing at the secretariat with the executive management, tour the secretariat, and meet with the secretariat staff.

The Prime Minister is also expected to pay a courtesy call on the Vanuatu Prime Minister and also meet with Solomon Islands law students and the Solomon Islands community in Vanuatu.

Prime Minister Sogavare’s delegation includes the Prime Minister’s wife – Emmy Sogavare, the newly appointed Solomon Islands Government Special Envoy on West Papua – Hon. Matthew Wale, four officers from the Prime Minister’s office, two Foreign Affairs officials and one Police Close Protective personnel.

The delegation returns on Sunday.
