The ROC (Taiwan) Embassy in Honiara and the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) have successfully launched a Chinese Mandarin class designed for local beginners.

A statement from Taiwan Embassy says Taiwan introduced Chinese Mandarin at SINU for the first time after repeated request from keen Solomon Islanders who are eager to learn the language.

The Chinese Mandarin class will accommodate 96 learning hours and expects to run from 17th August to 4th December 2015, at SINU’s Center of Tourism and Hospitality in Kukum Campus.

The ROC (Taiwan) Embassy now calls on interested individuals to register quickly because of limited space.

SIBC News understands Taiwan Embassy has introduced Chinese Mandarin at SINU as the first foreign language program in its curriculum since 2013.
