The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force lacks detail of a suspicious death in Honiara early this week.
Eye witnesses say a carpenter believed to be in his 20s working for an Asian had sustained injuries to his head and other body parts was rushed to the hospital on the eve of the Independence celebrations.
The lad died a few days later at the National Referral Hospital.
Relatives spoken to by SIBC News believe the death was suspicious and truth must come out.
Meanwhile Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast says he is aware of the incident but lack details as the case is still under investigations.
“Yes I believe I am aware of that incident yeah, and I understand investigations are continuing but I’ll get more detail for you.”
