World Vision has recently completed its grassroots literacy training workshop in Honiara successfully.
A statement from the non-government organisation said the training was part of its vision to encourage and empower youths to participate and contribute to enhancing development in their communities and society.
This is crucial as the trainees are now literacy trainers, ready to work in village communities where literacy is desperately needed.
Meanwhile, one of the youth trainees Alick Collin said this is an opportunity to help people in the communities who are in need of basic reading and writing skills.
SIBC News understands, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare was the guest speaker at the launch of the training.
