Prince William and his wife Catherine have sent condolences to the people of Solomon Islands following last week’s devastating floods that killed at least 23 people and left thousands homeless.

In a message to the Governor General, Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui, the royal couple had expressed sympathies to the families of those killed in the floods.

In their message, Prince William said Catherine wish to pass their thoughts and prayers to the people of Solomon Islands following the dreadful floods, which have claimed many lives and which have resulted in thousands of families losing their homes.

The couple has visited Solomon Islands in 2012 with admiration for the warm friendship shared by people during their visit here.

The Royals said they recall with affection the warm welcome they received when visiting in 2012 for The Queen’s Silver Jubilee and they will continue to remember Solomon Islanders at this difficult time.
