Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga says police is yet to locate the suspect since he has been on the run after the incident.

Mrs Matanga calls on the communities in the area to contact Buala police if the suspect is sighted.

“Police have already carried out investigations on it, and they are yet to locate the whereabouts of the suspect or the alleged┬áperson, and I’d like to ask people around the area to take him to Buala or hand him over to the police if they capture him so that he must face justice for his offense.”

Meanwhile, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force has recorded lower numbers in crimes in hot spot areas during the week.

Speaking during the police press conference today, Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga says the low crime rates are attributed to communities living in East Honiara.

“I am really pleased with our communities in that area, which indicates less criminal behaviour in the area, and I’d like to thank our communities in and around the Lunga area for lesser reported cases according to police records this week.”

The Acting Police Commissioner says cross road operations still continues for areas in Guadalcanal Province.
