The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will commence its training for the implementation of the Family Protection Act at GBR next week.

Thirty officers from around the country and Honiara will undergo the ‘train the trainer’ training before going out to their relevant work areas and train other staff on the provisions of the Family Protection Act.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast says the training is very important for the police at this time.

“As you’re aware that the Act was enacted sometime ago and it due for gazettal I think the target date is the 1st of April so this training is a very important part of the RSIPF being ready for the implementation of the Act.”
